It is my privilege to invite you to the AACR Annual Meeting 2023 – the 114th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research. We hope you will enjoy reading all the great coverage and highlights of our meeting in AACR Annual Meeting News whether you are attending in person or joining virtually.
We have assembled a robust multidisciplinary program for the meeting, united by the theme of “Advancing the Frontiers of Cancer Science and Medicine.” The theme reflects AACR’s commitment to operating at the cutting edge of cancer research, setting a standard for the field that will transform patient outcomes. We are proud to showcase the latest advances in the etiology, biology, prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer as well as the state-of-the-art concepts and technologies shaping cancer research today.
This year’s program offers a comprehensive array of engaging session types, including:
- Five plenary sessions and a wrap-up plenary session;
- Four clinical trial plenary sessions;
- Three clinical trial minisymposia;
- 52 major symposia;
- 36 minisymposia featuring proffered abstracts;
- 34 advances sessions;
- 10 forums;
- Six special sessions;
- More than 6,000 poster presentations featuring proffered abstracts;
- Many educational sessions, methods workshops, meet-the-expert sessions, award lectures, and networking opportunities.
The scientific sessions, including the Educational Program via the Educational Program Pass, will be livestreamed to the virtual meeting platform, and in-person and virtual attendees are encouraged to submit questions to the speakers using the platform or the meeting app. Annual Meeting attendees can register for the Educational Program Pass and secure their opportunity to choose from more than 65 education sessions and methods workshops. If you miss anything or wish to view a session again, recordings of these materials will be available on our virtual meeting platform for three months after the meeting.
None of this would be possible without the monumental efforts of the AACR Annual Meeting Program Committee Chair, Robert H. Vonderheide, MD, DPhil, and our extraordinary AACR President, Lisa M. Coussens, PhD, FAACR. I wish to express my sincerest thanks to these individuals and to our Program Committee, Education Committee, Clinical Trials Committee, speakers, moderators, sponsors, and exhibitors. I would also like to thank the entire AACR Staff for their hard work and dedication to bringing you a week of groundbreaking science, cutting-edge clinical insights, and lifesaving discoveries.
It will be an informative week of spectacular scientific talks, collaborations, and innovative idea sharing among colleagues in support of our mission to prevent and cure all cancers.
We look forward to meeting together, whether in Orlando or virtually. See you soon!
