Annual Meeting to amplify cutting-edge breast cancer research

A new session at the American Association for Cancer Research’s Annual Meeting 2024 will highlight cutting-edge research presented at one of the largest breast cancer meetings in the world.

For 46 years, the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) has been home to the latest scientific discoveries and practice-changing discussions of novel clinical trials for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of breast cancer. The AACR is a proud co-sponsor of this annual event, which hosted more than 10,000 breast cancer researchers, clinicians, and patient advocates in December.

“The objective of this session is to share the latest advances presented at the Symposium with the cancer research community at large and stimulate synergistic interactions between SABCS and the AACR that can lead to further progress in breast cancer,” said SABCS Co-Director Carlos L. Arteaga, MD, FAACR, UT Southwestern, Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Four of the nearly 2,000 abstracts from the latest symposium will be presented to the wider AACR Annual Meeting audience during Updates from SABCS 2023, Tuesday, April 9, from 10:15 – 11:45 a.m. PT in Room 28 on the upper level of the San Diego Convention Center. Arteaga and SABCS Co-Director Virginia G. Kaklamani, MD, UT Health San Antonio Mays Cancer Center, will chair the session.
