Preparing for the meeting with in-person and virtual options, runs, rock shows, and more
From April 25 to 30, the cancer research community will come together for the AACR Annual Meeting 2025 to discuss the latest advances in cancer science and medicine, connect with peers, learn skills for career advancement, and perhaps even catch a rock show featuring fellow researchers and physicians. Whether you are registered to attend in person or virtually, there are a lot of opportunities to keep in mind as you plan your itinerary for this year’s meeting.

For both in-person and virtual registration packages, attendees will be able to watch live and on-demand sessions on the virtual platform through October 2025, create a personal itinerary and import it into the meeting app, obtain CME/MOC credit from eligible sessions, request a Certificate of Attendance, access networking opportunities on the virtual platform, and more.
Those with an Educational Program Pass ($50 for members and $95 for nonmembers) can also attend any of the more than 65 Educational Sessions and Methods Workshops held on Friday and Saturday. Registration can be modified to add this pass until April 25, which also includes on-demand access to the sessions for six months after the meeting.

Attendees can start to think about what sessions they want to attend with the Online Itinerary Planner (where regular abstracts have been published) or keep an eye out for the release of the Annual Meeting App (available April 8) and printable PDF Program Guide (available April 18).
This year, all attendees will be able to view e-posters on the virtual platform for abstracts selected for poster presentations, while those who attend in person can check out the live poster presentations in the Exhibit Hall.
Anyone headed to Chicago will also have a lot more sessions and events to choose from—Town Hall Meetings, Satellite Educational Symposia, and Professional Development Sessions—as well as the chance to enjoy stunning lakeside sites surrounding the McCormick Place Convention Center like Chess Records, the Field Museum, and the Glessner House.

Another way to experience Chicago, while raising money for a good cause, is by participating in the 2025 AACR Runners for Research 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 26—and even if you can’t make it anyone can still donate. For those looking to make new professional connections, consider attending the AACR Cancer and Biomedical Research Career Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday or the Networking Hubs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 27. And if you want to see some of the top names in the field of cancer immunotherapy rock out, then don’t miss The CheckPoints’ performance at the Annual Reception on Sunday from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m.
On-site registration will be available throughout the duration of the meeting at the convention center during the following times:
- Friday, April 25: 12 to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, April 26: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday, April 27: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Monday, April 28: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 29: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 30: 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Professional childcare services, administered by KiddieCorp, will be provided free of charge in Room E256 of the convention center. While snacks and beverages are included, parents or guardians would need to supply meals. The deadline for online registration in advance of the meeting has been extended to April 11. On-site registration for this service will only be offered if space permits.
For attendees who are nursing mothers, McCormick Place has three private Mamava Lactation Suites, which can be unlocked via the Mamava Mobile App, and the AACR will provide three additional Nursing Mothers Suites with refrigerators located in Rooms S503B, E260, and N127.

View the AACR Annual Meeting 2025 website for more information about the lounges and childcare services.
Other wellness services that will be available throughout the Exhibit Hall include massage stations, therapy dogs, and spa water, along with a variety of concession stands, refreshment breaks, and charging stations to keep both you and your devices at full power. Attendees can also win prizes by downloading the AACR Annual Meeting Mobile App to play the Explore! game, in which points are earned by visiting participating exhibitors and various other locations.
Complimentary shuttle service will be provided to and from all official AACR Annual Meeting hotels not within walking distance of the convention center.
If you have yet to register or confirm your hotel, the AACR advises you to only do so through the official, authorized registration site. Please watch out for unauthorized companies using deceptive advertising to direct users to fraudulent websites claiming to offer registration and housing for the AACR Annual Meeting 2025.
